RSA Conference Returns to San Francisco’s Moscone Center
Prominent Bay Area cybersecurity innovators among the headliners for this year’s U.S. flagship event themed “The Art of Possible”
San Francisco (May 3, 2024) – Next week, RSA Conference (RSAC), the world’s leading cybersecurity conference, will once again return to the Moscone Center for its annual U.S. flagship event. Approximately 40,000 cybersecurity professionals are expected to gather from May 6 to 9 for hundreds of sessions, keynotes, an Expo, and special programs and events, where ideas and solutions will be discussed, and knowledge shared, that will help move the cybersecurity industry forward.
As a global capital of technology, Bay Area based innovators and industry leaders are among the featured keynote speakers and mainstage panelists, including Dr. Fei-Fei Li, Co-Director of Stanford’s Human-Centered AI Institute, Vasu Jakkal, Corporate Vice President at Microsoft Security Business, Dr. Rumman Chowdhury, CEO and Co-Founder of Humane Intelligence, and Barbara Cosgrove, Vice President, Chief Privacy Officer at Workday.
“We are excited to return to San Francisco and the Moscone Center once again,” said Linda Gray Martin, Senior Vice President, RSA Conference. “The Bay Area and San Francisco continue to provide a great hub for us, with their focus on business, technology, AI, and innovation. It allows our attendees to gain access to the region and within the city for a variety of unique networking opportunities and to bridge connections throughout the week and beyond.”
Sustainability is a key focus for RSA Conference organizers, and the Moscone Center’s dedication to this has remained a key factor in maintaining the Conference at the convention center. With the convention center’s recent LEED Platinum Green Building Certification, San Francisco is the only city in the world with a LEED Platinum-certified convention center and airport. In addition to choosing a sustainability focused event venue, RSAC will offer shuttles to and from area hotels to help reduce the need for attendees to take individual cars and significantly reduce attendees’ carbon impact.
“San Francisco is a hub for innovation and we are thrilled to welcome the thousands of RSA Conference attendees who will converge here to discuss ways in how technology can help us make our world safer,” said Mayor London Breed. “Large events and conferences are vital to our City’s economic vibrancy and we will continue to take strategic steps to not only bring more people Downtown to enjoy our amazing sites and cultural experiences, but invite them to venture out into our diverse and exciting neighborhoods.”
According to estimates from the San Francisco Travel Association, the Conference is expected to generate $62.8 million in economic impact, which includes the spending by attendees, event planners, exhibitors, B2B supply chain purchases, and wages paid to workers in the local economy.
Hotel Council of San Francisco President and CEO Alex Bastian said, "San Francisco serves as the natural choice for conferences like RSA because of our rich ecosystem of talent, technology, resources, and forward-thinking culture. Our hotels are committed to providing a secure and inviting atmosphere, ensuring attendees feel at home while exploring the boundless opportunities our city offers. We look forward to welcoming some of the brightest minds in technology to contribute to the energy that makes our city special.”
Marilyn Skinner, Director of Public Relations at Alexander’s Steakhouse Group said, “Alexander's Steakhouse proudly embraces its role in the vibrant tapestry of the San Francisco culinary scene, extending a warm welcome to convention attendees who grace our city's streets. Events like RSA provide us with the canvas to showcase our unparalleled hospitality, inviting ambiance, and culinary artistry, crafting unforgettable moments for both travelers and locals alike.”
